Like you, we were customers. We also happened to enjoy hunting, shooting and the Second Amendment. We relied on gun shops and big-box stores for most of what we needed. The rest, we turned to catalogs and later websites. Just two problems with that. First, one expects to find in a gun store, what the name implies... Where were the guns? Few gun stores have more than two or three dozen guns on display. The selection of accessories is slim pickings too. Second, gun stores usually employ "gun guys." Instead of being served by helpful and objective firearms experts, we often confronted closed-minded know-it-alls, whose goal appeared to be belittling the customer. And if you aren't ex-police, ex-special forces or ex-something else, then you will have to complete and pass a written exam and obstacle course to prove you are worth their time.
